Gerani Beach
Kamari Beach, near Gerani and just a 15-minute walk from our apartments, is a small, quiet beach with pebbles and rocks, ideal for snorkeling enthusiasts. Its easy access from the Chania-Rethymno highway makes it a convenient choice for a relaxing day by the sea. In the area, there are tavernas with views for dining, as well as a small harbor and the picturesque church of Panagia Kamariani nearby. To the south, you will discover the entrance to the significant Gerani Cave. This beach features a special sea track mechanism, allowing individuals with disabilities to enjoy the sea.
Georgioupoli Beach
Georgioupoli is a seaside resort located just 21 km west of Rethymno. It is situated in a lush green valley filled with rivers and springs. The shallow waters and sand dunes create the perfect setting for relaxation and enjoyable swims. Visit it and discover a unique destination that combines natural beauty and tranquility.
Kalivaki Beach
West of Georgioupoli lies Kalivaki Beach, near the mouths of the Almyros and Boutakas rivers. With a sandy shore and cool waters from the rivers and springs, it is a beautiful and well-organized destination with umbrellas, water sports, and restaurants. Ideal for families and children, the beach offers protection from the wind, making it a better choice compared to the neighboring beaches of Georgioupoli.
Ammoudi Beach
Ammoudi, with its white sand and rocky seabed, is perfect for diving and snorkeling, offering bright green waters. Tamarisk trees by the beach provide natural shade for relaxation or camping. Located south of Rethymno, 4 km east of Plakias, it is just a 40-minute drive from our apartments. Near Ammoudi, you will discover a picturesque cluster of beaches, such as Schoinaria and Damnoni, waiting to be explored.
Preveli Beach
Preveli Beach, at the exit of the impressive Kourtaliotis Gorge, is just 40 minutes from Gerani. The drive through the gorge is enchanting. Palm trees along the riverbanks add an exotic atmosphere. You can walk along the river in the shade of the trees, explore the gorge, and swim in the cool natural pools formed there.
Kalypso Beach
Kalypso Beach, also known as Pirate Fjord, is approximately 40 km from our apartments. It is a small sandy beach that is no more than 2 meters wide and drops sharply into a rocky cove. Visitors can enjoy various water sports, such as diving, in this enchanting setting.
Plakias Beach
The area of Plakias is located 36 kilometers south of Rethymno. Along the way, you will pass through the Kourtaliotis Gorge and the Kotsifou Gorge. Plakias is renowned for its stunning beaches, featuring impressive turquoise waters, offering unique moments of relaxation and natural beauty.
Bali Beach
The seaside resort of Bali, just 40 km from Gerani, has four beaches formed in sandy coves with beautiful turquoise waters. The beaches are almost always calm since Bali Bay faces west, and all are suitable for children and well-organized. Additionally, the waters are cool due to springs that carry fresh water from Psiloritis into the sea.
