Our story begins in the small village of Gerani, Crete, where we were born and continue to live with our family. In this place, filled with the scent of olive trees and the gentle sounds of the sea, we created our first accommodation several years ago — starting with just a single villa. Today, we welcome guests in four homes: two villas and two apartments, all designed to share the warmth and beauty of Crete.
From the very first day, people from all over the world have crossed our doorstep — travelers with different languages, cultures, and habits. Yet something united us: a love for our land and the joy of hospitality. Many of our guests have left not as visitors, but as friends, as members of our family. Through these moments, we have built bonds and friendships that now span the globe.
The meaning of Wandernest
From this experience, our name was born: Wandernest. The word wander reflects travel, exploration, and discovery. The word nest evokes a cozy home — a safe and warm refuge. Together, they represent what we strive to offer: a place where every traveler can feel at home, surrounded by warmth and authentic Cretan hospitality.
For us, Wandernest is more than just accommodation. It is shared moments, cultural exchange, and friendships that last. It is a bridge between the wandering world and our village, which continues to live by the same timeless values: warmth, kindness, and the love of home.
